Julien Lesaicherre, Facebook at Work’s EMEA Lead recently discussed Facebook’s recent efforts to re imagine the workplace and to help simplify organisation through Facebook at Work.
Here is Cosmos.ie notes to take away: Asked about the biggest opportunities he sees in connecting the workplace with Facebook, Julien noted the familiarity employees already have with the Facebook platform; 'there wouldn’t need to be any real tutorials for the new tool. He also said that Facebook at Work is really “mobile first… this year 1.2B smartphones will be shipped, and only about 250M PCs will ship. This element helps us with adaption.” Julien was also asked how Facebook at Work differentiates itself from other popular workplace tools, like Slack. “If your CEO wants to announce something big for the company, you don’t want his message to be gone because three guys send random gifs… Adding a newsfeed and reactions will help create a collective memory.” Additionally, Julien spoke about how Facebook at Work’s auto-translate tool is a “game-changer.” It helps provide a connected workplace for companies spanning multiple countries, transcending language barriers. While Facebook at Work is still in limited release, Julien mentioned that they have nearly 500 companies as some of their early users. “We’ve already partnered with very different types of companies – from banks to media companies.” To find out more about how best to use social media to leverage your brand contact us here at www.cosmos.ie
