How to win SEO in 2022? 10 necessary and easy steps to create a good SEO in your website - Beginner’s guide
They say that good things in life take time, and in SEO it is the same. It is a process of rigorous work, and a lot of consistency that is synonymous with patience, discipline, and persistence.
In this article, we will give you the right steps to succeed in the SEO strategy of your company's website or blog.

What is SEO? And why is it going to be useful for you?Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is important to make your website more visible and more authoritative in search engines.
Carrying out a successful SEO strategy will help you get more people to find your company's website and thus attract more potential customers.
But... What is the purpose? The idea is that your website appears in the first positions of the first search page of the search engines, since we know that these are the most likely to be consulted.

1. Create a buyer persona according to your business
Some questions you can ask yourself to discover your true customer and buyer persona:

  • Demographics (name, age, gender, education, profession, marital status, etc.).
  • What are their short, medium and long-term goals? (Personal and professional)
  • What are their challenges? (Personal and professional)
  • What is their daily routine?
  • What media do they usually read and what social networks do you use?
  • What are their strengths and weaknesses?

You may ask yourself, "but what does this have to do with an SEO strategy?" The point is that knowing who your buyer persona is is an important piece of information that you must take into account at every step of any strategy. It is a task that not many give the priority it deserves and, without a doubt, it can determine the success of your SEO strategy.

2. Identify keywords

Once you have identified your buyer persona, the next step in your strategy is to analyse what kind of searches they do and what are the best words to position your website.
You can use the Google Trends tool, which allows you to see what people are searching for on Google. If you have a Google Adwords account, you can also use the free Keyword Planner tool, which helps you find the words or phrases that users search for the most according to language and country.
A good rule that will allow you to speed up your work is to organise keywords by categories or services and in order of importance.
Tip: make sure you use your keywords in texts, URLs, categories, tags and in your meta descriptions, the text that appears below the title or link in the search results (SERP).
Similarly, you can include your keywords as topics in your articles, either in the title, in the headings or in the text (it is important not to saturate them or seem too forced). Another old technique, but still valid, is to highlight keywords using bold, italics or underlining.

3. Analyse your competition

After identifying which keywords you want to be related to your website, it is important to observe which companies have authority in the searches where you want to appear.
A good tool to use is Screaming Frog, which can help you know what words your competitors use and how their content is structured. If you want to start analysing your competition, I recommend you learn how to use Screaming Frog to make your life and your SEO strategy easier.
We should also not overlook the existence of Semrush, this tool not only does keyword ranking analysis but also allows you to analyse SEM campaigns of your competitors, make reports in great detail and perform searches and analyse the possibilities of your star keywords.

4. Take care of your images

Your entire website should be SEO friendly, including your images. When naming your photos, make sure you name the file correctly. For example: if the image is of a landscape of the Eiffel Tower, the file name should be "eiffel-tower-paris.jpg". The idea is that Google can know what the image is about, in this case, the keyword is Eiffel Tower, since it is the main subject of the photo.

Another factor to take into account is the loading time, as it is important for SEO. The faster the site, the easier it is to visit and index a page. Images influence the time it takes to load a website, especially when a large image is loaded and displayed very small, such as using a 2500 × 1500 pixel image and displaying it at a size of 250 × 150 pixels. Here the ideal is to scale the image to the size you want to display it.

Tip: don't forget to add the alt text, in other words, the descriptive text that appears when the cursor hovers over an image. Make sure you add the alt text and that it includes the SEO keyword of that page and is relevant to the image.

5. Details make Google fall in love with you

The success of your SEO strategy is the accumulation of many small details that, little by little, add up points with Google. The truth is that a website must have certain specific configurations to successfully carry out the positioning in search engines. Here are some of the details you should take into account:

  • Metadescription: this is the text that appears in the search results (SERP). The meta description does not affect your SEO directly, but it is an important tag because it influences the number of visits you receive from search engines. When writing the meta-description of your pages, try to include your keywords and a call to action ("meet us", "visit us", "quote today", etc.). Remember that it should not exceed 155 characters. For example: "Discover the latest beauty trends in "company name". We have a selection of makeup, skin care, accessories and much more, enter today!

  • Customise your links: be sure to customise your URLs according to the content of each page of your website and by including your keywords. For example: if a page talks about skin care products, the URL should be something like www.nameofyourcompany.com/skin-care-products/.

  • Create your favicon: the "favourite icon", also known as 'favicon', is the small image that appears in your browser's address bar, bookmarks and bookmarks. Most often the company logo is used and is 16 px by 16 px in size.

6. Fix broken links

It has probably happened to many of us that we are visiting a website only to end up on a 404 error page. These broken links are not only annoying but they can also hurt your SEO efforts. Why?
When your visitors discover that they have broken links, they will not want to continue browsing other pages, and if your visitors spend less time on your site, search engines will assume that you are not providing a good user experience and will lower your SEO.
Therefore, it is important that you fix these links by redirecting them, permanently or occasionally, to other pages that are active.

7. Use your own links

When writing content for your website, especially when it comes to your blog, try to make one topic lead to another to prolong the time your readers spend browsing your site. How to do it? Use internal links, that is, links that go from one page to another on your website.
If you write an article about skin care tips, try to link it to another article on your blog (for example: skin care for all ages) within the same text. You have to be clever in your writing and think about how you are going to link it so that it is coherent with the rest of the article.
For example, you can word it in such a way: "Your beauty routine should be designed for your needs, this is why it is important that you adopt the best skin care according to your age." The sentence that is in bold is where you would add the hyperlink that takes the reader to the other article in your blog.

8. Strengthen your content

Writing is not an easy task for everyone, even professional writers themselves suffer from writer's block from time to time, a condition where they find it difficult to produce new and creative content. Even so, the important thing to understand is that your audience comes first, before Google's algorithms.
Your content must be useful, original and creative. Before selling your product or service think about how you can help your buyer persona, then write a friendly article, well worked with examples and tips, and that the tone corresponds to the brand.
Ideally, it should be long (more than 1,000 words), since several studies have shown that more elaborate articles tend to have better SEO results.
Also check that your website has a responsive web design, in other words, that it adapts to any technological device, whether from a mobile, a tablet or a desktop computer. It is worth mentioning that since 2015 Google penalises any website that does not have this type of design.

9. Analyse and measure your SEO strategy

A good place to get this information is through Google Search Console, formerly known as "Google Webmaster Tools", a free tool that helps you analyse, optimise and verify the status of your site in search engines. It shows you all the errors that Google finds when it reads your website so that you can solve them faster.
